Lisbon's downtown, flowing gently between the hills until it finds the Tagus River.

The other, and slightly more recent, old town of Lisbon lies at the hills across the valley where downtown has grown. The place where the bohemian Bairro Alto, the upclass and artsy Chiado or the more popular Bica coexist closely but with very different identities.

Lisbon's old town, the Roman, Islamic and Visigothic Lisbon. Built around St. George Castle (Castelo de São Jorge) with its narrow curvy streets. On one side Alfama is facing the river, on the opposite there's Mouraria and on the top Graça overlooks the castle and the river.
